I love to travel & I love adventure.
A few weeks ago I traveled to Chicago for work & play.
Although, I have traveled through Chicago a dozen times & have family there I never enjoyed it.
Ok. Ok. So, I let the rumors get to me.
“Chicago has bad crime. Chicago has bad weather. Chicago has mean people.”
These are all the rumors that I had heard from the media & rumors that were reinforced by family.
It was none of the sort.
My main reason for traveling to CHI Town was to experience “The Taste of Chicago”.
I always wanted to go to this festival, but never had anyone to go with.
Luckily, I had a friend willing to travel with me to celebrate his birthday.
But I had to work.
So Friday was spent in the Chicago office.
Which wasn’t bad.
I was able to mix & mingle with coworkers in a city miles & miles away from home.
My hotel was only a few blocks from work too.
This enabled me to really see the city as I walked to work.
On my walks I embrace the people, the architecture, the sounds of the city, & the weather.
By lunch time I was in love with Chicago.
Overall my few days in Chicago were amazing.
I had the opportunity to live in “the loop” & explore every town of Chicago.
I tasted every restaurant possible. #Amazing
I partied with the cool people at private events. #NewFriends
& I embraced the culture of the windy city. #ChiTown
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Even if there are bad rumors about a city, go explore it for yourself.
Never let other people stop you from journeys that you were meant to have.
